'Dhurandhar' Fallout: Armed Guards, Extortion, and a Neighborhood at Odds

The success of Ranveer Singh in Bollywood has been confirmed in more than one way - one being the massive success he's achieved in the Industry and the other being a very ominous message he got via WhatsApp, which apparently put him under a whole new level of security protection. Ranveer found himself in a pretty scary spot after his spy thriller Dhurandhar broke all box office records. He headed on down to the Mumbai Crime Branch on Feb 10 to report on a threatening voice message that was demanding 'crores of rupees' from him. What made this voice message even more chilling was that the sender claimed to be affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which is the same lot that the police think was behind the attack on Rohit Shetty's Juhu home back on Feb 8.

The Crime Branch is now going through all the digital evidence to see if this is the real deal or just an extortion scam that's been copied from somewhere else. Meanwhile, Ranveer's building situation is actually a real security risk. The neighbors are showing two very different reactions to the whole thing - some are freaking out and others are beyond angry. The managing committee of the housing society has even gone to the police and complained that having private guards patrolling around the building with guns is actually creating a real atmosphere of panic in the area. The people of Mumbai are now left wondering about how to protect one of their biggest stars without making it impossible for him to live a normal life in his luxury residence.

Ranveer's got more on his plate than he ever did before during this whole ordeal. The pre-production stage for Dhurandhar 2 has all but come to a grinding halt, and now instead of working on the script they're concentrating on all the security measures that are needed to keep him safe. What's even more worrying is that there are 5 detainees who have all been linked to Bishnoi lieutenant Shubham Lonkar, and now the investigators are trying to figure out if Ranveer is the next target for a serious elimination operation in the industry.

For now, Ranveer is under pretty heavy security, but that one 'ere WhatsApp message has sent a real chill down the spines of the whole industry - the extortion culture that people were hoping had gone away in the 90s has apparently just found its way into the digital world in 2026
