The wait for Season 3 of HBO's Euphoria may be longer than expected, but actor Hunter Schafer has had his say on the possible time jump in Season 3.

Euphoria: will we see our beloved characters again?

Euphoria, which has captured audiences' attention for its tackling of dark and complex themes related to adolescence, appears to be in a very slow stage of development, with producers exploring different directions for the next season. One of the options being considered is a five-year time jump, a move that could bring the characters to the end of their university experience and mold them into new contexts. Schafer, who plays the character Jules, shared his perspective on this possibility, acknowledging the appeal of such narrative development in Euphoria. While she doesn't fully support this option, the actress has admitted to wanting to see the characters go through new phases in their lives after the tumultuous events of previous seasons.

“The last two seasons have been pretty rough on Jules,” Schafer noted, “so I just hope she's been able to relax and be a normal teenager.” Despite production delays, HBO and Euphoria show creator Sam Levinson remains committed to delivering an exceptional third season. Levinson, the cast says, is committed to crafting a narrative that reflects the characters' existential challenges and questions of identity.

“Sam is a person who writes and rewrites and writes and rewrites some more because I think he's wrestling with what's important,” shared Colman Domingo, a cast member. “He immediately answers what the evils of the world are. I know the only thing I can say is that he's very interested in the existential question of who we are right now. Our souls. That's what he wants to figure out with season three."
